Child of God, do not be deceived! In this world that is consumed with lies and deception, you MUST KNOW by now that all that glitters is most definitely not gold.

This message is addressed to those professing Christians who are playing Church! Your day will soon come to an end…

It may surprise you to learn that only a mere 20% of true, born again Believers – those who are committed followers of Jesus Christ – will make it into Heave. While a staggering 80% of the evangelical Church – not the world as a whole, but the Church – will go to Hell. There are many, many Christians who are living complacent, back-slidden lives believing they are ‘good enough’ for God. You are wrong and you are sadly mistaken. God is a Holy God and He is coming to receive nothing less than a Holy Bride. He will have Her no other way.

This 80% of professing Christians will include many, young and old, who say they love the Lord but whose lives say otherwise. This 80% will include many leaders who are called to serve in the Church but who are deceiving the Body of Christ. This 80% will include the unholy, the unrighteous, the sexually immoral, the prideful, the arrogant, idolaters, liars, adulterers, homosexuals, murderers, thieves, drunkards, revilers, swindlers and the greedy. I have a question for you, Child of God. Will this 80% include you?

Be not deceived. Jesus IS coming soon to receive His Bride. The Bible tells us in Ephesians 5:25-27 that “Christ loved the Church and gave Himself up for Her, that He might sanctify Her, having cleansed Her by the washing of water with the Word, so that He might present the Church to Himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that She might be Holy and without blemish.”

Jesus is coming soon for His glorious Church. Jesus is coming soon to receive His People who will be Holy and who are set apart for Him alone. Do not become lax in your living my brother and sister. I heard someone recently say that he believes people are becoming tired of hearing “get ready, get ready for Jesus is coming soon!” That they are  comfortable in hearing it. That this talk is quickly becoming the proverbial “cry wolf” statement for many, including the Church. The truth is that Jesus is tarrying. He is tarrying for you. Jesus is tarrying for your family and for your loved ones. He is trying to give you time to get your act together. Yet, if you look around you, you can clearly see that time is winding down. Do not be like the foolish virgins in Matthew 25 of the Scriptures.

It tells us that “The Kingdom of Heaven will be like ten bridesmaids who took their lamps and went to meet the Bridegroom. Five of them were foolish and five were wise. The five foolish virgins did not take enough olive oil for their lamps, but the other five were wise enough to take more than just enough oil. When the Bridegroom was delayed, they all became drowsy and fell asleep. “Then, at midnight, they were awaken by the shout, ‘Look, the Bridegroom is coming! Come out and meet Him!’ All the wise bridesmaids got up and prepared their lamps. Then the five foolish ones, in realizing they had no oil, asked the wise ones for some of theirs because their lamps were going out. But being wise, those virgins replied, “We don’t have enough for all of us. Go out and buy some oil for yourselves.” But while the foolish virgins were out getting oil, the Bridegroom came. Those who were ready, went in with Him to the marriage feast, and the door was locked behind them. Later, when the five foolish bridesmaid returned, they found themselves outside calling to the Lord, “Lord! Lord! Open the door for us!” But the Bridegroom called back them, “I do not know you!”

You, Child of God, must be ready at all times and you must keep watch! For none of us know the day nor the hour of Jesus’ return. wheat-weedsThe livelihood of a wheat farmer depends greatly upon the quality of their crop. If someone wanted to sabotage a farmer’s business, one way to do it would be to maliciously sow seeds of destructive weeds in among the wheat as this would affect the integrity of their crop.

In the Bible, Jesus told the Parable of The Wheat & The Tares (Weeds), to a multitude of people comparin it to the Kingdom of Heaven:

“The Kingdom of Heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares (weeds) among the wheat and went his way. But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares (weeds) also appeared. So the servants of the owner came and said to him, “Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares (weeds)?” He said to them, “An enemy has done this.” The servants said to him, “You want us then to go and gather them up?” But he said, “No, lest while you gather up the tares (weeds) you also uproot the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, ‘First gather together the tares (weeds) and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.'” Matthew 13:24-30

Jesus later gave the meaning of this Parable to His disciples as it is explained below:

“Then Jesus sent the multitude away and went into the house. And His disciples came to Him, saying, “Explain to us the parable of the tares (weeds) of the field.” He answered and said to them: “He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man (Jesus). The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the Kingdom, but the tares (weeds) are the sons of the wicked one (Satan). The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels. Therefore as the tares (weeds) are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this age. The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His Kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness, and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the Kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!” Matthew 13: 36-43

Your enemy today, as it was in Jesus’ time, is still Satan. His age-old goal is, and always has been, to try his best to do everything he csn to oppose Jesus Christ. One of his most successful tactics is to compromise the integrity of Christ’s work by ‘planting’ false Believers and teachers into the world for the purpose of deceiving and misleading as many as he can. Those who fall prey to Satan’s traps are used to discredit, distort and mock God’s Word causing many Believers to be led astray to their detriment.

There are many people in this world who claim to be ‘Christians’ even though their words and actions say otherwise. These ‘counterfeit’ Believers make it very difficult for legitimate Christians, as well as the rest of the world, to know who is truly serving Jesus Christ. This is why it is so important that you have your own personal relationship with the Lord.

Although it is good to have fellow-saints around us such as pastors, teachers, etc. for instruction and fellowship, you must not depend on others to define God’s Word or this walk for you. You must know it and live it for yourself.

According to His Parable, Jesus allows the ‘weeds’ to remain with the ‘wheat’ but, only for a time so as not to uproot the immature crop. Christians who are ‘young’ in the faith require time to grow and mature. During this growth period, a ‘young’ Believer could easily be mistaken for a non-Christian. Because of this, you must be careful not to judge your fellow-Christian if they are in error. Pray for them, disciple them and encourage them.

Certain weeds, especially in the early stages of growth, look very similar to wheat. Therefore, through the analogy of wheat and weeds growing in a field together, Jesus warns that what we perceive as a false Believer may, in fact, be an immature Believer. People come to the Lord at different ages and stages in their life. We must be mindful of this fact as we encounter people every day. Do not judge others but instead speak and act in love. Only God knows for sure. “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.  By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.” 1 John 4:1-3

There are no shortcuts in this walk. You must go the long and arduous distance alone. Pray often, spend as much time with the Lord as you can, study your Word to show yourself approved by God and always test the spirit in others. “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them.Matthew 7:15-20

At the point of Christ’s return, the angels have been appointed to gather together the ‘weeds’ of this world for they are to be cast into a fiery destruction for all eternity. The saints, on the other hand, will be gathered together to be with Jesus. This walk is not an easy one but it is well worth it. Being transformed into the image of Christ will require time, sacrifice, discipline and some suffering too. This process of molding and purifying is not comfortable, yet all who truly love the Lord will have to go through it.

As you make your way through this journey, walk slowly without blinders. Look around you and be mindful of others. God is doing a work in their lives as well. The difference we make in the lives of others is a big part of why we are here. We ALL have an interactive job to do. It is given for some to plant and for others to water. Only God causes the growth and reaps the Harvest, in His time. Until then, be faithful, loving and obedient, in Jesus’ name.
